We are obsessed with all things antique silver. That much is obvious. We restore and polish countless pieces (seriously, we can’t keep track anymore, we’re probably in the hundreds of thousands?!), but we do much more than that.

1. Christopher Roy Design
We’ve been working with Christopher for years (he’s been in the business for 25!), and we can’t say enough great things about him. The man knows what he’s doing.
He’s an interior designer whose projects include homes in San Francisco (of course!), Sun Valley, New York, Palm Beach, and Aspen.
We’re not the only ones obsessed with his work. His projects have been featured in numerous books and publications, including Architectural Digest, Elle Décor, and Traditional Home.
He recently came in with some doorstops that he wanted us to refinish from brass to an aged nickel. (Nickel is a huge trend these days, by the way). The doorstop’s original finish didn’t match the vibe they were going for with the rest of the house. Biro & Sons stepped in and nickel-plated, polished, and lacquered the door stops to give it that “aged” feel.

2. Martin Group
We have the utmost respect for the Martin Group team. (And not just because their name is Martin, shout out to Martin Biro!)
First of all, they are on the Elle Décor A-list. That speaks for itself.
We’ve collaborated on several projects, but most recently, they’ve brought in some interior hardware.
Martin Group went out and bought interior hardware that had patina finishes, aka bronze. These bronze finishes were from different manufacturers of different hardware types, so they didn’t all quite match—a decorator’s nightmare. We stepped in to try to uniform everything.
“We have to use an artisan’s approach to match things. We find our way to the specific tone or color our client wants. They come to us because they can’t go somewhere to buy it. We do the kind of things that manufacturers can’t,” explains Martin Biro.

3. Artistic Designs for Living
This team, led by Tineke Triggs, never ceases to amaze us. Their ability to weave artistic expression with their client’s individuality is unmatched. They believe that every home should reflect the unique personality of its owners. And we agree!
ADL came in with a sample finish and some drawer pulls and handles they wanted us to match to the sample. This happens a lot – interior designers present a sample board to their clients with several different finishes. The client then chooses what they want, and the designer works with us to make sure everything looks like that sample. It’s all about making the client happy, and ADL sure does that.
We highly suggest you look them up.
4. Upscale Construction
Okay, so these folks are not interior designers, but they do exquisite work. We’ve only been working with them for a little while, but they identify as craftsmen, so of course, we feel some kinship.
This contracting company knows the building process and how to bring a vision to life, from the big picture to the details. We’re on board with that!
When they stopped by the shop, they asked us to refinish door hardware from brass to bright nickel. (We’re telling you, nickel is making a comeback.) We did some bright nickel-plating and voila, no more brass hardware.
